Finley and the Great War is a study of the impact of the Great War (WWI) on the town of Finley in the Southern Riverina of New South Wales. Using service records and other primary sources, Graeme Hosken has profiled the military service of 81 men who enlisted from the Finley district and 14 soldiers who were born in Finley but had left the district prior to enlisting.
The publication also covers post-war commemoration of the Finley enlistments, and the prominent figures in the RSSILA between 1918 and 1939. The book also relates the development of the Blighty (Tuppal) soldier-settlement scheme in its formative years from 1918 to 1923, with special reference to the first 43 soldier-settlers to take up the farm blocks west of Finley.
